I’m Elena Schmidt, a writer, content strategist, and yoga teacher with roots in alternative wellness and research-backed storytelling.

In 2011, I earned a journalism degree from the University of Miami, where I learned to craft impactful narratives, conduct in-depth research, and create meaningful connections through words.

My passion for health and wellness took shape soon after at New You Magazine, where I served as Deputy Editor and later as Web Content Marketing Manager. Writing for this beauty and anti-aging magazine allowed me to explore emerging wellness trends, such as dynamic stretching, mindfulness-based meditation, and spring water healing.

As my career evolved, I began focusing on cannabis, hemp, psychedelic therapy, and other psychotropic substances. Writing for leading publications like Psychedelics Today, Psychedelic Spotlight, and The Third Wave, I’ve covered groundbreaking topics, from how parents are turning to psychedelics over SSRIs for their teens and the promising potential of topical ketamine for PTSD. I’ve also explored the role of vaping and its implications for health and wellness.

In 2020, I founded Flow Content, an SEO-driven content marketing agency dedicated to alternative brands. Through Flow Content, I’ve helped clients in the cannabis, psychedelics, vaping, and wellness industries double their web traffic, improve organic keyword rankings in under six months, and secure top spots for highly competitive keywords. Authentic storytelling and data-driven strategy have been key to these successes.

My passion for the topics I write about has always driven my work. Certifications in psychedelic methodology from Third Wave’s Alchemist Academy, meditation teacher training at Innergy Meditation, and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) from the South Florida Center for Mindfulness have deepened my connection to plant medicine and mindful living.
